The short version
ZenAI has no accounts, analytics, crash reporting or telemetry, and it never contacts us. The only service it talks to is Google's Gemini API, using your own key.
Your API key
Your Gemini API key is stored in your macOS login Keychain. It is sent only to generativelanguage.googleapis.com, and it is never written to project files or logs.
What goes to Google
To generate a video, ZenAI sends Google your brief, the prompts in your plan, and the keyframe or picture being animated. Google returns plans, images, video and music. These requests are covered by your agreement with Google under the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service, including how Google uses and retains them. Those terms differ between free and paid (billing-enabled) keys, so read the current version.
What stays on your Mac
Projects, generated assets and the spend ledger are stored in the app's sandbox container, at ~/Library/Containers/com.fireroad33.zenai. Finished renders are saved to ~/Movies/ZenAI. You can delete a project from the app. To remove everything, delete the container folder, and remove the key with Remove in Settings → API Keys (or delete the “ZenAI gemini API key” item in Keychain Access).
